We limit our practice to bankruptcy, Chapter 7 and 13, and Social Security Disability claims.
We have handled bankruptcy matters for over 20 years, and Social Security claims for over 5 years. The firm's members have substantial history in real estate matters and civil litigation.
The firm was established in 1997. However, the 2 founding partners have over 40 years combined in the practice of law. Between the 2 partners, they have served as a Judge, an Assistant District Attorney and City Attorney.

Activities and Awards
We accept cases pro bono, including cases referred to us by Legal Project and Legal Aid.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
We find it is helpful for clients to be aware of fundamental aspects of bankruptcy and to be aware of their options. Their knowledge allows us to quickly start discussing the specifics of their own situation.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
We generally will not review a bankruptcy petition prepared by a client because we would need all information and documents used for the preparation in order to assess whether the petition is accurate and complete.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
We will not coach clients because we find the bankruptcy laws and process to be quite technical. To fully coach someone would require the same level of work as representing them.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I wanted a job where I had lots of interaction with people.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I have practiced many types of law, including jury trials, real estate matters, family law, contracts, personal injury, criminal law, and municipal law. My varied experience allows me to better analyze a client's options.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
In both bankruptcy and Social Security Disability, we have direct contact with individuals and families, and we are gratified when we can help provide relief.
What do you like best about your career?
In the bankruptcy cases, the best moment is when my explanation and advice is truly understood by the client.
Tell us about your law firm:
We have two lawyers, three paralegals, two additional assistants, and a third part-time lawyer who handles many appearances. One of the lawyers initially meets with the clients, then works directly with one or more paralegals to prepare the case.
What are your strengths and style?
I have the ability to make my advice comprehensible for a client. I am told that I am very calm and put people at ease.
Throughout my practice, I have encountered so many situations that I can analyze seemingly complex situations, and present clear choices to a client.
