Without having them waste all of their time, money and energy along the way.

After 36 years in the practice of law, I restructured my law firm in November, 2009 and renamed it the Givens Law Group. With more than eighty years of combined trial experience and four former state prosecutors, the firm prides itself in its ability to obtain favorable settlements on behalf of our clients and in its trial skills which are set in motion should the case not settle.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose to practice family law so that I could make a difference to people struggling with the difficulties of dissolving relationships and the risks of losing contact with their children and losing their assets.

Beginning as a state prosecutor, nearly all of my private practice work has been in the family law arena.

Decades of life experience and long term involvement in the community have helped make me a better lawyer.

I like to think that my strength lies in my ability to reach favorable settlements for my clients, yet I have the trial experience to fight in court if that becomes necessary.

Personal interests:

My major interest is in the welfare of children. I have worked as a coach and served on the board of directors for numerous sports programs for young adults and youths and have been involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa.
