I founded Adams Law Office in 2009 and it currently is a single lawyer operation. We support your success and profitability as your trusted advisor and mentor by providing you with legal guidance, connecting you with people and resources, helping you manage employee risk, recommending marketing programs, and more.

Previous Employment Summary

Before opening my own firm I worked with the Portland City Attorney's Office and private firms advising on their employment law related matters as well as managing contracts for the City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services.

Activities and Awards

I volunteer to lead seminars on common issues confronted by business owners to help you run your business more efficiently and with reduced legal risks through different groups including SCORE and MercyCorps NW.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Yes, I applaud any client who has taken the initiative to discover more about their issue and I am happy to be a part of that journey. Educating oneself about a legal issue is a great way for a client to make efficient use of legal assistance.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes, I gladly review documents prepared by clients. Often the process a client goes through to draft their own document helps to focus and frame the issue that needs to be addressed.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes, I will assist clients at the level of coaching they need or desire. Many clients are more than capable and willing to take on the task at hand with a little guidance.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

To gain the tools to become a more effective advocate.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Having grown up with and having worked with many entrepreneurs has given me a key understanding of the breadth of issues facing many business owners. In addition, I was always taught the value of listening and use these skills to hear what the client needs or wants allowing me to best serve my clients.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Working with business owners to support their success brings a variety of issues and problems to the table as well as the potential for limitless creative solutions and strategies. I relish being a part of such an exciting opportunity.

What do you like best about your career?

I get to meet a variety of different people all following different passions and goals. Our respective roles in the relationship leave the opportunity for a long and satisfying relationship.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner so all clients deal exclusively with me and get the attention they deserve.

What are your strengths and style?

I am a great listener and I use this as a tool to help my client pinpoint his or her needs. Then I apply my knowledge and use all resources available to devise a solution or strategy that will work best in their particular situation. In addition, I rely on a pool of other professionals to draw from to provide other complimentary support such as CPAs, insurance advisors, and marketing mentors.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
