Our law firm focuses our entire practice on two areas: representing people injured in personal injury accidents, and people who need help appealing the denial of Social Security benefits by the Social Security Administration.
I have been representing injured people in our own law firm since 2003. I formed the Jurewitz Law Group in 2007, and my wife joined our law office in 2010 to create a husband and wife legal team. We also started representing Social Security claimants for appeals starting in 2010.
• Confidential settlement for traumatic brain injury from a jet-ski collision with permanent brain damage.
• We recovered a $337,500 settlement for a fallen retaining wall that crushed a young girl's foot.
• We have helped numerous clients obtain their full Social Security benefits upon appeal.

I became a personal injury attorney because I liked to help people who were injured and needed help dealing with the adverse insurance company's unfair tactics or low-ball tactics. I started representing Social Security claimants with their appeals after seeing too many people get turned away by the Social Security Administration after paying into the system all of their lives and then, in their moment of need, getting their claim denied. It all comes down to fairness and justice, and we represent clients who need justice.
Our law office's philosophy is that an educated and informed client is the best client. We want our clients to be informed and understand all aspects of their case. That is why our firm publishes several free books, available to our clients and all Californians for free, to help them understand the legal system and what our law firm is doing for them. In addition, our website is full of helpful information and other free white papers concerning personal injury and Social Security claims law.
We occasionally are asked to review settlement agreements prepared by the insurance company for personal injury cases where the client represents himself. We are happy to do so, to provide peace of mind, and to make sure the insurance company is not taking advantage of the personal injury victim.
For clients whose cases we do not accept, we regularly invite them to contact our office if they have any questions. We also usually give general advice and assistance as to how they can represent themselves and how they can get the insurance company to pay them or to win their appeal with the Social Security Administration.
I have worked in a number of hospitality jobs in the restaurant and hotel industries in addition to a couple of jobs in the construction field prior to becoming an attorney. As an attorney, I have operated my own law firm for almost my entire legal career, but also worked for a high-volume personal injury law office in San Diego.
I think that my diverse work experience before becoming a lawyer has allowed me to walk in a number of people's shoes. In addition, my experience in the hospitality industry has helped me pay attention to the fine details of treating our clients well and providing personal attention. With respect to my legal experience, I have run my own office and practice for almost my entire career, but I have also had experience working in a high volume legal practice. This has helped me create and strike a balance between the personal attention you receive in a small law firm and the resources of a larger law firm.
I am professional, but also very outgoing and personable. We select clients we wish to work with, so our clients are our friends and our family. We take a personal interest in our clients and their lives and families, so our outgoing and personable style works well in maintaining and strengthening our relationships with our clients.
Personal interests:In my time away from the office I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, playing with our dogs, playing golf, and going to the beach.
