My firm has three main focuses, the first being consumer and debtor assistance including bankruptcy assistance to consumers under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. The other topics I focus on are employment law (employee side) and corporate compliance.
The firm was established in 2004. I decided to open my own firm when I found that the people of Philadelphia weren't fully served by consumer-oriented practices. I chose my areas of practice based on the ability to be of the greatest help to the people of Philadelphia.
For purposes of client confidentiality, I won't discuss cases in public forums.

Yes, typically a free initial consultation for half an hour. We also offer home visits and virtual practice for clients that can't make it to the office. Virtual practice is where we do our meetings over the phone and Internet.
Fixed fees are available depending on the case. Most consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings are done on a fixed fee basis.
When outside of fixed fee cases, my rate is $295 per hour.
Monday through Friday
10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays are hit or miss. It is always necessary to have an appointment to meet with me. But I answer the phone, and if I don't answer then I try to return calls with two hours.
I employ virtual assistants as needed.

I have three primary areas of practice. I chose them for business reasons as well as for the fact that they provide the opportunity to help the residents of Philadelphia and the five counties. My consumer and bankruptcy law practice allows me to work on matters that help people in immediate serious need. My employment law practice allows me to work on cutting edge issues with people who have been wronged by the system. And my corporate compliance practice allows me to help businesses become better employers and more efficient enterprises.
An educated consumer is the best partner in a case. Particularly in bankruptcy matters it is important for the consumer to be an active participant. The results of the case strongly depend on the consumer working with their attorney to achieve the best possible outcome.
I will review documents prepared by consumers. But expect my comments to be as strong as if I were responding to a document drafted by another attorney. The courts grant little leeway to parties to submit deficient documents and it would be a disservice for me not to look at documents critically.
I am not willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves. My malpractice insurance prohibits this.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, I spent seven year as a paralegal in various capacities. I've worked with a major law firm and with several in-house law departments.
My background as a paralegal makes me a better bankruptcy lawyer. I am very adept at understanding and applying the nuances of the law to the situation.
I personally see all new clients on their first visit. I am direct and upfront and don't sugarcoat my comments. Clients may not hear what they want to hear but I help them to understand their situation and give them the alternatives. I maintain strong compassion while helping my clients through what is an emotional time in their lives.
Personal interests:I enjoy motorcycling touring and travel both in the U.S. and internationally. I enjoy exercising: racquetball, lifting weights, doing cardio, and swimming as often as I can.
