How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Bankruptcy law combines finance with law in a way that helps the average person get relief from debt to obtain a fresh start. The practice of bankruptcy law is well-suited to my skills and background, and is consistent with my values.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is our strong belief that our clients deserve to understand their legal rights and obligations, and we spend time with each of our clients helping them to understand the progress of each case. We thoroughly analyze each client's legal matter in order to help our clients make the most beneficial and most educated decisions.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We are willing to review our clients' documents. However, we often recommend that our clients furnish specific documents to cut down on our work and to save our clients the additional expense of document review. We are usually able to quickly identify the items necessary to proceed in our clients' cases.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We strongly recommend retaining an attorney for all legal matters, and especially bankruptcy, since the consequences are often serious, and self-representation may ultimately necessitate lawyer intervention at greater financial cost in the long run.

I have a "get it done" attitude. I firmly believe that you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. I believe that the harder we work, the luckier we get. Therefore, I try to foster a strong work ethic among the staff. I also believe that it is important to return phone calls promptly and answer questions patiently. We are actively engaged in representing many clients but each one deserves special attention.

Personal interests:

The beach lifestyle and many outdoor activities. I also spend a good deal of time doing whatever tasks my wife gives me at home, walking the dog, coping with a high school senior and being tolerated by a college graduate. All in all, I enjoy raising my family in Long Beach.
