What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I believe in fully and candidly discussing all aspects of a client's case including the consequences of selecting different options as whether to go to trial, plea bargain, etc.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely. I insist that the client's prepare a narrative of what happened.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Depending upon the facts and circumstances of each individual case, the answer is yes.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I became a lawyer, because I strongly believe in the constitution of the United States and that it confers on the individual. I believe that working to better define and protect those rights was a worth while career.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have over 25 years experience as a criminal defense and personal injury attorney and prior to that time, I worked as a carpenter where I met people from all walks of life. I have observed the system from the inside and the outside.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I chose criminal law because that is the one area where all of our constitutional rights are defined.

What do you like best about your career?

I like helping people get through a tough time in their lives and going on to bigger and better things.
