The predecessor to the Meynardie & Nanney, PLLC was formed in 2008 in order to provide big firm quality legal representation to smaller companies and individuals who could not afford the cost of larger firms. The Meynardie Law Firm, PLLC was merged into Meynardie & Nanney, PLLC in 2010 to continue this mission.

We represent businesses and individuals in disputes ranging from business ownership to breaches of contract and business torts, including unfair trade practices. Our experience includes representation of contractors, designers and owners, including public owners throughout North Carolina involved in building construction. Our construction industry work includes complex disputes related to delays and other construction disruptions and drafting and negotiating owner-contractor contracts, owner-designer contracts, and Construction Manager at Risk Contracts.

We offer flat rate, contingency, and hourly rate billing. For most litigation cases, an hourly rate is the most appropriate billing arrangement.
Our standard practice is to charge an hourly rate that is dependent on the complexity of the matter.

I enjoy complex legal and logical arguments. I also enjoy oral and written advocacy of complex issues.
I believe that the more informed a client is about the legal process and the claims that are at issue; the more effectively I can represent that client. Ultimately, the decision to pursue or defend a claim is the client's decision to make and should be made with the benefit of as much information as possible.
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients in an effort to provide cost savings. However, the cost of reviewing a client created document is often as high as or higher than creating documents from the beginning.
Although I am willing to help the do-it-yourself client, I believe it is a mistake for a client to attempt to represent themselves.
I practiced law with two of the largest most sophisticated commercial litigation law firms in North Carolina for 15 years before opening the Meynardie Law Firm in 2008. Prior to entering private practice, I served as an "elbow" clerk to the Honorable Susan H. Black at both the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
The variety of cases and disputes I have accepted has made me a better lawyer. In the past few years I have advocated on behalf of a foreign national seeking visitation rights with his minor son and advocated in post-conviction relief proceedings for two death row inmates. Although these are not my practice areas where I had prior experience, they teach me and continue to remind me that there are numerous ways to look at legal issues.
Prior to attending law school I studied accounting and finance and worked in business for seven years. I bring to the practice of law an appreciation of the business person's perspective.
We have a very good track record of finding pre-trial solutions to complex legal claims. Trial is expensive and risky. Our objective is to find ways to obtain the results our clients are seeking through aggressive pre-trial advocacy, many times leading to a favorable settlement at mediation or summary judgment. The best way to achieve pre-trial results, however, is to be fully prepared to take the case to a jury verdict.Personal interests:
