Our lawyers focus on eliminating debt for our clients, but also help them keep as many of their assets as possible. Most people keep their house, car and personal property while eliminating credit card debt, medical bills, and other unsecured debt. We can save houses from foreclosure and cars from repossession, as well as stopping garnishments.

A typical case would involve a homeowner behind on mortgage payments who wants to save a house from foreclosure. In a Chapter 13, we enable the client to make regular payments again, plus a small monthly payment to catch up the arrearage on the mortgage, thus saving the real estate. This also discharges all unsecured debt such as that of credit cards and medical bills.

There are often large debts after a divorce or failed business. Through Chapter 7 or 13, we can discharge the debts and give the client a fresh start without the large debt, while keeping assets.

We often help people with rental real estate or a business that needs reorganization to survive. This is usually a Chapter 11 case. Not many lawyers do Chapter 11 for individuals due to its new and difficult nature, but it is a handy tool for this purpose.
