Bankruptcy provides individuals and businesses with an opportunity to recover from a difficult situation and move forward with their life or business. It is a situation where I can act as a creative advocate to make a positive impact.
The best representation happens with an informed client. When client is informed on the legal issues involved in their situation, the client is better able to understand how best to resolve the matter in his or her favor. This leads to an effective and productive relationship between me and the client.
For example, when a client has an understanding of the legal issues, the client will understand the legal significance of the facts of their particular situation. Such understanding helps me in working in partnership with my client.
I am always willing to review documents prepared by clients who retain me.
I will discuss with potential clients the pros and cons of representing themselves in their situation, so that the clients can make informed decisions. At the point potential clients decide to represent themselves, for liability concerns I cannot provide legal advice or coaching.
I started at a New York law firm in 1979.
Beginning with my law firm experience in New York in the 1980's, I was involved in representing creditors in bankruptcy cases. This experience provided me with a practical understanding of both sides of a bankruptcy case.
My Harvard Law School education developed my research abilities. While I was a law student, I participated in an internship program through which I represented clients in the local Massachusetts State Courts. Through this program, I started my development of my legal advocacy skills, which have continued to this date.
I treat each client individually and provide personal attention to each situation. I listen to the client's cares and concerns. I am a relentless advocate.
Personal interests:Traveling, hiking, motorcycling, jazz, and reading a wide range of topics.
