We have been asked to assist both in state and out of state firms in matters involving personal injury and civil procedure in Connecticut. Many of the out of state firms were preeminent law firms.

Our office is also a strong believer in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has arbitrated and mediated a number of cases for clients as well as served on arbitration panels for other attorneys in civil personal injury legal matters.

Our clients have run the gamut from nationally known people in the world of art to chief financial officers of companies, business executives, other lawyers, academics, office workers, factory workers, state and municipal employees, teachers, physicians, police officers, children, housewives, and the elderly.

The Rotatori Law Firm was founded over 48 years ago in Waterbury, Connecticut by founding attorney Peter Rotatori, Jr., who still practices law today.

Activities and Awards

BV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients should make it their mission to be as informed as possible in any applicable area of law that they come in contact with.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

In the area of personal injury, we don't come in contact with that often with a document that the client prepared. It would be fact-specific to the legal matter at issue.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We do that in the area of automobile property damage claims.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I saw the diligent, creative legal work my father performed to help clients achieve fundamental fairness in our civil tort system and wanted to do the same for people who have been harmed by the negligence of others. In college, I went to a university that had one of the only undergraduate majors in legal studies and fell in love with legal history before going to law school to learn the body of law that would be applicable as a practicing civil tort attorney.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Working with clients in the personal injury field on an individual one on one basis to try to understand how an injury affects a client's life having done so for over 20 years makes me a very empathetic person who is not afraid to take on a client's legal cause. Personally, my lovely wife was born without a right hand and I have learned through her that determined people can overcome physical obstacles in their life and make a difference with a caring attitude towards people and professionalism in their chosen field. I try to motivate my clients to always be positive in spite of a physical injury setback and let me take care of the complexities of their case.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I love the intellectual complexity of a challenging tort law claim. I love making a complex medical proof in a hearing or trial blending the law with medicine. I enjoy the rigors of a complex legal proceeding with a favorable result for my client.

What do you like best about your career?

Helping a vast number of clients over a long period of time recovery money damages for their injuries and to develop a sense of closure for what they have experienced.

Tell us about your law firm:

The founder, Peter Rotatori, Jr., is still an active attorney with a wealth of knowledge and experience. My paralegal has been with me for well over 10 years with a great temperament to match her experience in personal injury tort law and workers' compensation.

What are your strengths and style?

I am extremely detailed whether it be in investigating facts, researching relevant case topic, analyzing the law, drafting a legal document, preparing a witness, writing a brief, or preparing to present a case for arbitration or trial. I am also very personable and can interact with a client one on one, building a sense of confidence for the client while the legal matter is pending. I am also very competitive and don't like losing, which I use to help motivate me to prepare my case.

Personal Interests:

I love to travel in both the U.S. and overseas. I enjoy spending time on the weekends with my family, including my two dogs, one who is an English Bulldog. I am an avid golfer. I also enjoy yard work around my home.
