I am an attorney with 30 years of experience in dealing with debt issues. Until 2009, I worked as a bankruptcy attorney for two Cincinnati law firms. I represented thousands of clients in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. I started my own law office in May 2009. My firm consists of one attorney and one paralegal. Whether you need Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, I will personally handle your case from start to finish.

Bankruptcy can help you protect yourself and your assets from creditors. Chapter 7 helps you get rid of debts. Chapter 13 gives you time to pay off debts like mortgage arrears.

Example cases

I met with a client who owned a house scheduled for sheriff sale. The sale was scheduled for later that same morning. She was about to lose her house to the mortgage company. I prepared and filed her case in three hours. We stopped the sale of the house. She is paying off the mortgage arrears in Chapter 13.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

It is one of the few areas in the law where clients are happier by the end of the process. It's not hard to see why. People struggle to earn enough to keep up with expenses. They worry about being able to afford to help their kids. They use up all their savings and retirement to stay ahead of their creditors. They avoid seeing a lawyer for as long as possible. By the first time they see me, they feel enormous stress. I like to show them how to improve their situation. And that helps them to feel better.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients who take the time to educate themselves are the best clients. I enjoy working with them. Bankruptcy law is complicated and confusing. I can help you understand how it can help you.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

My clients don't need to prepare bankruptcy-related documents. I take care of that for them.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not recommend people representing themselves in bankruptcy court.
