The focus of my law firm is consumer bankruptcy. Before opening my own firm, I worked as a bankruptcy attorney at another law firm. Since going out on my own, I have really enjoyed the ability to work directly with my clients and lead them through every step of the bankruptcy process.
Example casesI have helped many people who are being harassed by phone calls and unable to make day to day living expenses because of garnishments. Through the bankruptcy process, they have been able to regain control of their finances and relieve the stresses associated their unmanageable debts.

I handle most bankruptcy cases on a flat fee basis. My fee depends on the complexity of the case and is determined on a case-by-case basis. In Chapter 7 cases, there is a court filing fee of $299, a required credit counseling class that costs around $50 and my attorney fees that typically start at $1,000. In Chapter 13 cases, there is a court filing fee of $274, a required credit counseling class that costs around $50 and my attorney fees starting at $2,750.
When I do work on an hourly basis, my rate is $180.

Out of law school, my primary focus was real estate law. Because of the economy, the first firm I worked for shifted me to bankruptcy law. I really enjoyed the work and have never left it.
I believe the more a client can learn about the bankruptcy process, the less overwhelming the whole process will be when they are working with their bankruptcy attorney.
I am not willing to review documents prepared by clients. When I take on a new bankruptcy client, I see them through the whole bankruptcy process from start to finish.
I do not feel that bankruptcy is an area of the law clients should tackle without legal representation.
I interned at several Utah law firms and the Utah Fourth District Court before joining a Northern Utah Law Office as a Bankruptcy Associate.
I graduated from BYU Law School where I was an Editor for the Journal of Public Law and was Vice President of the Natural Resources Law Society. I also graduated from BYU College of Engineering with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and was a research assistant at the Environmental Modeling Research Lab.
I always meet with client and personally return their phone calls. I spend the time to learn what the client's needs are and find a solution they feel comfortable with.
Personal interests:My personal interests revolve around my family and the outdoors. We enjoy spending time hiking, camping and four-wheeling all around Utah together.
