The Liviakis Law Firm works on behalf of individuals and small businesses to eliminate debt, reorganize certain mortgage debt, and to settle disputes with creditors; offering Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and debt settlement services. In 2008, I started the Liviakis Law Firm with an eye toward helping Sacramento area residents with their personal and business financial challenges and planning issues. The firm is focused on results and has earned recognition in the areas of Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and debt reorganization. The firm also offers estate planning, will drafting, and trust creation to complete the asset planning and protection process.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Estate planning and bankruptcy both involve the preservation of money and other assets for oneself and one's family. I know how important it is to have the financial tools and infrastructure to continue to prosper in the community. I am an advocate who is focused on results and who serves the client with compassion.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It's very important that each client is properly informed and kept up to date about the case from the beginning to the end. I work with each client to explain the process and keep them up to date on the decision that they make. Self-preparation may help the client understand the process, but it also may also lead to confusion and misunderstanding.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I find that the best way for me to ensure that a legal document is properly prepared is to personally prepare it from the beginning to the end.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Since I am concerned about the outcome of the client's case, I would not endorse self-representation in most cases because of the increased risk of failure to the client.
