I am focused on Bankruptcy and Consumer Advocacy in addition other areas of the law effecting financial planning including Tax, and Estate Planning and Probate.
The Law Offices of Michael R. Sices, PC was established in 2009 in Texas. I have been an attorney since 1994.
I have many clients who are worried about credit card debt or foreclosure, whether they are behind on their payments or are simply out of work and are worried about the future. I am able to help file for Chapter 7 or 13 Bankruptcy, which eliminates credit card debt and stops foreclosure dead in its tracks.

I chose to focus on Bankruptcy and Consumer Law because I feel strongly about helping people who have been up against an unregulated credit and banking system that stacks the cards against them (no pun intended).
Each client can achieve their goals by way of a number of different solutions by themselves or with our help. Often, clients did not realize all of the ways in which they could help themselves until they came to see me.
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.
I offer some clients, where appropriate, a flat rate counseling plan that can help them avoid Bankruptcy entirely. Each client's situation is different, so the decision on what plan of action to take, and whether or not they will need help is crucial. As such, I do not charge for your first one hour consultation with me, if you live in the DFW area.
I have been involved in small business and finance since 1988 as both a small business owner and a lawyer. I understand the challenges, roadblocks, and pitfalls to planning for your financial future.
I have been a lawyer and small business owner for over 15 years. I understand the day to day financial stresses and successes that individuals and business face. In particular, I understand that when a client needs help, they want and need my individual attention. That means a personal relationship with me, not my secretary. I do not run a Bankruptcy-mill type of practice, and therefore, you will never be treated like cattle. My assistant helps me with paperwork only. When dealing with this office, you will always be talking with me to help collect all of your information. I personally will make sure that whatever course of action we take, it will be in your best interest.
My strength is my in depth knowledge of both the bankruptcy code and consumer protection laws such as Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and Texas DTPA and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Many Bankruptcy practitioners are not aware of additional protections that can be used to litigate within a Bankruptcy or otherwise to force creditors to comply with Federal and State Consumer Protection laws.
Personal interests:I am an instrument rated pilot, and I love to play the guitar.
