I like to represent every day people. Not big businesses.
Clients need to be educated by me and my staff, rather than relying on their own independent research. The laws surrounding injury, death or insurance claims are complex and intricate. Do it yourselfers can easily and unwittingly misinform themselves. I have spent over 25 years learning this field of law, and the way I see it, that knowledge is what my clients are paying me for.
We regularly review and rely upon client diaries and information.
I do not recommend that clients try to represent themselves in insurance, injury or death cases. It is just too complicated and there are many pitfalls that can cause insult to injury if the case is mishandled. Lawyers have a saying that he who represents himself has a fool for a client. In all but the simplest of legal matters, that is usually true. A good attorney is worth every penny they are paid. Do yourself a favor and hire an attorney to represent you when you are injured, are buying a house, need a will, or need any other legal advice.
Morgan Colling & Gilbert 1993-2005; Gurney & Handley 1988-1993; Walker Miller & Ketcham 1985-1988; all offices in Orlando, Florida.
I was raised on a family peanut and cotton farm that is still in operation in southern Georgia. I was taught to work hard and as a young man knew how to work with my hands, as well as my mind. Having labored under the hot sun, I identify and empathize with my hard working clients who find themselves entangled and their lives interrupted by injuries and legal disputes.
My staff and I pay particular attention to detail and preparation, while always keeping our eyes on the forest, over the trees.
Personal interests:Weight and strength training, upland bird hunting, golf, reading, travel, and family.
