Firm Focus and History
Webb & Bordson, APC specializes in business and real estate litigation and mediation and focuses on providing the most practical and cost-effective solutions possible through intently investigating the unique facts of each case and providing straightforward, honest advice and dedicated service specifically tailored to each individual client's needs.
Founded in 2008, initially as the Law Offices of Lenden F. Webb, the firm quickly outgrew its initial office space by employing a full office staff of Paralegals, Law Clerks, Office Assistants and Interns. In 2010, the firm expanded once again with the addition of its San Diego location and partnership with Christopher Walton.
Previous Employment Summary
I began my legal career as a Law Clerk at Dowling, Aaron & Keeler, Inc. After passing the Bar Exam, I began working as an Associate Attorney at Wild, Carter & Tipton, APC. After two years as an Associate, I was promoted to Junior Partner, a position I held until opening the Law Offices of Lenden F. Webb, APC.
Activities and Awards
Authored two courses for the Department of Professional Studies at National University; Serve as a paneled mediator with the Tulare County Superior Court and the Fresno County Superior Court.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe it is important for client's to make an effort to inform themselves on the issues relating to their specific case. The better a client is able to communicate the legal problems they are facing, the better it is for his or her attorney to begin identifying the best solutions. This not only reduces the cost to the client, but also allows for more efficient communication between the attorney and the client. Additionally, clients who have a working knowledge of their legal issues are less likely to be taken advantage of by potentially greedy attorneys.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Depending on the gravity of the issue, I am occasionally willing to look over pre-prepared documents and if they are filled out satisfactorily, file them to avoid unnecessary cost to my client. However, if it's a high-risk, high-dollar amount issue, I am more likely to insist that I carry the case from start to finish to completely eliminate the potential for error.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I always strongly encourage all clients to rely on the knowledge and expertise of a skilled attorney.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I have always found the United States' legal system to be fascinating, but I have also seen how certain individuals and companies can be severely harmed by the wrongful or negligent acts of others. I have found that there is a huge capacity for effecting positive change in the business arena through my capacity as an attorney. If a company or individual is wronged, I want to make it right.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
While my MBA has certainly aided me in business litigation issues, one of my greatest learning experiences has been opening my own firm. Dealing with all the complications of owning and running a business has given me an incredible level of insight into the issues many of my clients face. By understanding the intricacies of running a business, I am able to better represent clients in a similar situation and better tailor my services to their particular needs.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I feel there is an enormous potential for affecting positive change in the area of business litigation through providing dedicated service and creative solutions to help rectify issues that arise among businesses and individuals. My goal is to right the wrongs so that my clients are restored to their position before litigation so they can return to focusing on their business practices.
What do you like best about your career?
I enjoy the chance to hear my clients' stories and lift their burden by telling them we can make things right.
Tell us about your law firm:
I owe a great deal of my firm's success to my extremely talented office staff. I have been blessed to have been surrounded by such a competent team that is fully capable of each task handed to them. Our diverse team consists of the best and brightest students and graduates of our local Law School and Paralegal Programs. In addition to working hard at the office, we also enjoy building team synergy through office retreats and adventures, ranging from river rafting to climbing Half-Dome in Yosemite.
What are your strengths and style?
I feel that my greatest strengths are my zeal and honesty. I am always straightforward and up-front with my clients. I don't ever make promises I can't keep and I try my best to ensure that my client's always know exactly what is going on with their cases. Before I take on a case, I fully explain what the challenges will be and what the realistic cost of litigating the case will be - even if it's not exactly what the client might want to hear. Once I do take on a case, I put everything I have into achieving the best possible result for my clients and I know my team does the same.
Personal Interests:
When I'm out of the office I try to enjoy all the benefits of living in California's Central Valley, including mountain biking through Yosemite National Park, Kayaking on the San Joaquin River, hiking through the Sierras, and surfing the waves on the central coast.
