Firm Overview

From 1994 until 2006, our firm primarily focused on fathers' rights. Since 2006, due to changes to legislature, our firm has shifted to focusing on parental rights, to custody and support issues.

Our firm started in 1994 with Thomas Kendall as a sole practitioner, and I was the paralegal. The office grew to include two offices, several attorneys and paralegals. In 2004, I became licensed as an attorney, and in 2008, the office was changed to a partnership between Thomas and I. Currently, no other attorneys are associated with the firm.

Family law practice is highly intensive with daily court appearances, which keeps me active and sharp.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Wonderful. Most people I see in court are upset not because the result was not fair or equitable, but rather, they misunderstood what the law allows.

I am very willing.

I am willing to an extent insofar as evidence laws cannot be taught overnight.

Kristina Kendall-Gkikas

While in law school, I interned and made court appearances for the Department of Child Support Services. Prior to my bar admission in 2004, I was a family law paralegal for ten years handling dissolution of marriage, paternity disputes, custody battles, support litigation with Department of Child Support Services and appeals arising out of these matters.

Because I worked in the real world before choosing to become a lawyer, I can apply street sense as well as book smarts to my litigation skills.

I believe that it is important to be civil and courteous both in court and out of court to my colleagues and other parties, with the understanding that I will effectively and zealous argue for my client's position.

Personal interests:

I enjoy family time, traveling, classic cars, and Harley Davidsons.

Thomas Kendall

I received my B.A. in government from Pomona College in 1988. I followed that immediately with a J.D. in law from Santa Clara University in 1991. During my stay at Santa Clara, I was the Editor in chief of The Advocate, Santa Clara Law, and graduated in the top quarter of my law school class. It was also at that time I was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. I reached the rank of Captain before my honorable discharge in January 1999.

I was fortunate to pass the bar examination in the first sitting, and was duly admitted to California State Bar Association in May of 1992. In October of 1998, I received my Certification in Family Law from the State Bar Association of California Board of Legal Specialization. This certification requires passing an extremely difficult examination and satisfying practice requirements.

I opened my practice September 1994. During my practice I have handled hundreds of cases. I have had everything from multi-million dollar stock option cases to child support defense cases.
