How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

This area of law chose me. When I was graduating from law school, there were hardly any attorneys practicing in immigration law in our area of the state. There was a great need for someone willing to specialize in this area. Our business clients needed this expertise as well. They had foreign employees that were in need of job transfers and our world was becoming much more international. Globalization was beginning to take place. My initial years of practicing law in Florida were also conducive to this body of law. It has a diverse workforce with many international cultures that are represented across the state.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I am always providing clients with books, websites, and resources to educate themselves. It makes our jobs easier. Nolo provides excellent materials including web articles and legal books in this area of law.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am always willing to review documents prepared by clients. This is often in preparation for filing a large or complex application, or in preparation for a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services interview.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes, but because of the complexities of immigration law, I think clients should always seek some kind of legal assistance (even if it is just document review or attendance at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services interviews).

I have had my own practice since graduation from law school in 2000. Our main offices have been located in Jacksonville, Florida for 10 years.

Our new offices in Marietta, Ohio were opened in 2008 and serve the mid-Ohio Valley, including Parkersburg and Wheeling, West Virginia and Athens, Cambridge, St. Clairsville, and Zanesville, Ohio.

I am married to a first generation American, who also happens to be a military officer. Together, we travel extensively and are always eager to learn other cultures in our world.

I am extremely efficient, detail-oriented and personable. I get work done quickly and effortlessly. I am able to put my clients at ease with their situation.
