I am focused on providing my clients the expertise, skill and knowledge needed to assist them in defending against any type of criminal conduct, including crimes of violence, sexual misconduct, alcohol, or drug related allegations. I limit the number of clients that I represent at any one time so that each client receives the individualized attention they need, in a non-judgmental environment.
I also provide experienced, aggressive defense of your professional license. If you are facing an accusation regarding your license, do not risk the loss of your livelihood. I can assist in protecting your license and your job.
I have been practicing criminal defense since 1997. Prior to June of 2009, I worked as a dedicated public defender. After years of service, I realized that I could better serve my clients if I had a limited caseload. Consequently, I opened my own law firm, so that I could better serve the needs of my clients.
I have represented various clients facing very serious charges throughout my career. An example of one case is a young man who was accused of seven counts of attempted homicide. After three years in jail, awaiting trial, and months of litigation, the jury acquitted the young man. He had been facing 7 life terms. At the end of the trial, he walked out of the courtroom a free man. Another example was a young man who was accused of raping a woman when they were at a party together. The prosecution presented DNA evidence along with the complaining witness. I was able to convince several of the jurors that my client was not guilty. The district attorney ultimately dismissed the case.

Yes, I will not charge for an initial consultation, if the client is serious about retaining my services.
Every case is different. If the client is seeking a second opinion concerning a current case or counsel, that will cost a modest fee, as these types of consultations often require research and document review. Generally, the fee depends on the complexity of the charges and legal issues in the case. However, I will work with the client to achieve their goals within their means.

Criminal law is a passion for me. It is a time in a person's life when they most need help, compassion, and understanding. I chose this job so that I could help people who most need it.
I encourage clients to educate themselves before retaining an attorney. However, it is dangerous for a client to rely solely on the information they glean from the internet, as it can be inaccurate. It is important that a client have an experienced, aggressive advocate in their corner.
Absolutely, it is crucial that a client have an attorney review their documents before filing them.
No. It's like the old adage, "the lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client."

I am a very experienced trial attorney. A client facing serious charges needs an attorney that excels in the courtroom. This type of excellent representation only occurs after years of experience.
I am an intelligent, insightful, and aggressive litigator. I excel at gathering the information and evidence related to a client's case and presenting it to the prosecutor and judge in the best light possible. I am always well-prepared for the client's case and will work the extra time needed to obtain the best result possible.
