Established in 1994, the firm was created after I left my equity partnership in the law firm of Glover & Davis, PA. My reasons for leaving were to establish a small Litigation and Estate Planning firm that would serve the individual and family businesses rather than to continue my practice representing banking and large commercial clients. The scope of my representation soon also included representing people confronted with the challenge of divorce, custody disputes and alimony cases. With the collapse of the construction industry the firm's large family based construction practice was supplanted with family law and personal injury cases, from the simple to the complex, the firm has successfully strategized, prepared and presented cases ranging from the uncontested to the hotly contested multi-million dollar asset case and traumatic custody battle.
2010: Thirty-year marriage divorce and alimony contested trial with a family business and a multitude of assets at stake, resulted in our client retaining most of the assets and paying only short alimony and no attorneys fees to stay-at-home mother and homemaker.
2010: Mother of small child was the victim of a false statement Temporary Protective Order and was put out of the house. Within 24 hours after being retained, we successfully had the order vacated and reunited mother and child then had her awarded full custody and support.

People need good lawyers in the small towns of metropolitan Atlanta. I was tired of spending my days on the 8th through 20th floors of office buildings in downtown Atlanta and Mid-Town. I enjoy the satisfaction of clearly showing why assets need to be divided a certain way and why the best interests of children are served by their parents working in harmony to ensure their best interests. I also love helping people and families enjoy the fruits of their labors and devise great exit strategies whether that means a transition of ownership to younger family or selling the business in a beneficial way to a third party.
The informed client who understands that they still need advice and counsel saves themselves money in the long run. The modern attorney who will enjoy continued success will be, like us, the attorney who understands that his role in the life of a client is better served being a counselor and advisor not in churning out ministerial paperwork. A cheap lawyer will never be an inexpensive lawyer. An inexpensive lawyer does not equate to a cheap lawyer. We take pride in providing inexpensive counsel and advice, not being cheap lawyers. Our clients know at all times what our representation is costing them and why.
We have learned over the years that clients are capable of preparing a number of documents themselves and we are willing to review them for a fee, but our review will never be a perfunctory ministerial review. We are trained in Socratic questioning and we are going to globally address any document and situation.
This is a much more restricted area than reviewing documents prepared by clients with a global scrutiny. The issue of coaching begs the question of whether it would be cheaper to just have us represent the client. Globally addressing a pro-se representation mandates a review of simple logic paradigms, a global review of all issues and possible issues, discovery to reveal the opposing parties strategy. There are so many variables that a trained professional is able to address 'on the fly' that a client wanting to represent themselves would not even know how to address that I think this topic is basically asking me to stand idly by while someone opens 'Pandora's Box.'
We are a litigation firm that concentrates in Family Law and Personal Injury cases of every kind, both uncontested and hotly contested. I, the senior principal of the firm, have for decades also advised and counseled individuals and families on Estate Planning, the making of Wills and Trusts and Family Business continuance and exit strategies. Because of the years of experience sitting as a Municipal Judge, I and my partner John Duncan also handle DUI cases and both are certified in field sobriety testing and intoxilyzer 5000 operation.
I was an Oil Company Sales & Marketing representation before going to law school. Several of those years I was one of only a handful of 'Salesman of the Year." My methods were simple and I have continued to apply them to the practice of law: Prepare correct syllogisms for each issue, prepare the facts and the law that support each constructed syllogism and then calmly present the preparation to the trier of fact with the understanding that and the metaphysical giving over of, the power of decision to the trier of fact whether that be Judge or Jury.
Strategy and preparation. I am known for 'owning the room' in the sense that people are glad to see me, other lawyers, former clients, Bailiffs, Court personnel. The Court personnel have over the years told me that they look forward to my presenting cases because they always learn something new.Personal interests:
