Family law provides the best area for me to have an actual and significant impact upon people's lives on a regular basis.
In order for clients to be productive members of the team it is essential that they be educated on the law applicable to their case.
In many instances I may request that a client draft certain documents on their own in the interests of accuracy and/or cost savings.
I am willing to coach clients only in a limited number of circumstances.
Prior to establishing the firm I was litigation supervisor and in-house legal counsel for The Oil & Gas Insurance Company. I also was the founder and director of Ohio Dispute Resolution, which provides alternative dispute resolution services.
Common sense is my most important tool. I learn from each of my experiences and improve the services I provide thereafter.
When practical, my first step in conflict resolution is to pursue a timely and cost-effective negotiated settlement. If that is not feasible or otherwise is unsuccessful, then I will not hesitate to initiate the appropriate litigation against all involved parties. My policy is to aggressively pursue the proceeding towards a favorable resolution for my client. I also will aggressively defend a client if sued and pursue all available and appropriate defenses.
Personal interests:First and foremost to me is my family. I participate in year-round basketball and softball leagues. I am a college football, basketball, pro baseball and hockey fan. I enjoy frequent travel, driving my classic Chevy and boat, and live theatre. Current events and the news are of great interest to me as well.
