What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
An educated client can assist with the legal process.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I will review documents prepared by clients. However, it is often more difficult than beginning with documents that I have prepared.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I do not advise individuals to represent themselves. It is not so much an analogy to "coaching" as it is an analogy to having two quarterbacks on the field at the same time.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
Having a legal education furthered my business development as an individual. It also provides an opportunity to interact with others.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I have an accounting background and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1985.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I enjoy business and personal transactions and the related environments.
What do you like best about your career?
Having my own law practice provides me with the opportunity to work in the community in legal, charitable, and social organizations.
Tell us about your law firm:
I am a solo practitioner with one assistant. I communicate directly with my clients unless the matter can be addressed by my assistant.
What are your strengths and style?
I enjoy working with people and use both positional and personal "power" to persuade others towards achieving their goals.
Personal Interests:
Family and community activities.
