Example Cases
Defendant Jet Grant was on probation for attempted second degree murder and several other charges.
After his arrest for attempted sexual battery, Mr. Grant hired attorney Justin Caldarone to defend his case. Attorney Caldarone immediately investigated the background of the alleged victim and presented that information to the Assistant State Attorney assigned to the case. Attorney Caldarone persuaded the Assistant State Attorney not to file the new case.
As a result, the affidavit of violation of probation was dismissed and Mr. Grant was reinstated to probation.
Case dismissed!
In a second example, Defendant Mack Young was charged by Information with one count of Possession of Cocaine.
The State alleged that Mr. Young possessed a baggie of cocaine found in the glove compartment of a car Mr. Young was driving.
After reviewing the discovery provided by the State and researching the law of constructive possession in Florida, Mr. Caldarone persuaded the Assistant State Attorney that she could not prove that Mr. Young possessed the cocaine beyond and to the exclusion of every reasonable doubt.
Case dismissed!
