My firm is 50% focused on Criminal Law, 30% Bankruptcy, 20% Other.
I started practicing in rural Colorado at a two attorney firm, Stephen W. Monks, P.C. I broke away from that firm in June of 2007 to start Haenlein Law Firm. I wanted to concentrate in Criminal Law and Bankruptcy and had wanted to return to the metro area.
I take on cases in criminal law and bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy and Criminal Law are the two greatest areas in people's lives where people need the most help navigating through problems. These areas are very complex, emotional, and trying times in people's lives and I wanted to help them through that.
I think that it is important for the clients to educate themselves on legal issues, but at the same time I would like the clients to be open to my legal advice. Clients may get overwhelmed by all the information. It can be easier communicating with someone who has had personal experience in law rather than attempt to self-educate. However, it is helpful for me when clients are comfortable with the situation by having background information.
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients. I do it often with Family Law cases.
I am willing to coach clients to represent themselves. In Chapter 7 cases, the fees are not high to hire an attorney. It can cost as much to coach a client as it would to hire an attorney, but I am certainly willing to coach a client who would feel more comfortable representing themselves.
I was licensed in 2003 and did not start practicing full time until 2005.
I worked in a children's ministry of a church for ten years. I was always helping them and their parents with legal issues and other problems in their lives. This experience brings a lot to the table for my legal work because it taught me how to deal with many life issues. It taught me empathy in a lot of different situations and how to communicate with people, particularly with children who are dealing with complex problems in their lives.
My strength is that I have a very personal style. I have compassion and am easy to relate to. People I represent tell me that the reason they hire me is because I actually care. The client is not just another case, another number, or another bill.
Personal interests:I enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and golf.
