Family Law Case - Client needed support to raise family and despite her spouses claim to be UNEMPLOYED, our client was awarded guideline support.
Divorce - Other party entered default against my client after claiming to him that she had dismissed the divorce due to their recent reunification. We successfully litigated before a judge, to obtain an order for father to pay our clients attorney fees after the default had been set aside.

Services Offered For Fixed Fees?

Uncontested cases have a starting hourly rate, and retainer beginning at $1,500 plus costs (unless qualified for a fee waiver by court). Very few cases we encounter are UNCONTESTED. Most matters involve: Divorce- property division; Spousal Support and/or Child Support, Visitation or Custody; most recently there have been frequent instances of False Restraining Orders that we have had to defend against. With these complex cases our retainer will be much higher. Our rates are estimates but WRITTEN HOURLY CONTRACTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU IF YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE US.

Hourly Rates

Regular hourly rate is $350. We also offer a 25% discount to clients who mention Nolo, which translates to $285 after discount.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose family law and bankruptcy because it seemed to me that those areas required the most lawyers.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I appreciate clients coming into my office informed about the issues that affect them. It is much easier to explain the process when clients have already educated themselves about the big picture. I then only have to fill in the details.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I commonly review documents prepared by other parties. I also assist litigants who began the process themselves and became overwhelmed.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am open to the idea of helping folks on an hourly basis who want to handle the case themselves. This is the concept of limited scope representation.

I was a paralegal for 12 years prior to obtaining my law license.

I grew up on a farm in the country. I was expected to work hard to make money for the family farm. It taught me what it means to do a good days work and about the value of money. I also know how hard money is to come by, so I respect your decision to hire my firm to handle your matters.

Personal interests:
