What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe it is extremely important for everyone to know and understand their rights under the law and I encourage clients to ask any and all questions they may have regarding their legal matters.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am always willing to review client documents and encourage clients to stay involved in their case.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
When it comes to medical malpractice and serious personal injury matters, it is important to be represented by an attorney with extensive experience in this type of law. I have been helping clients for over 30 years with these matters and dedicate myself to each client's case.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
As a personal injury and medical malpractice attorney serving New York City and Long Island, I am able to help those injured by negligence and improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers by raising safety standards.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
Coming from a blue collar family, I lead the firm by insisting on an honest and ethical approach to the practice of law. I treat each individual client with respect and kindness throughout the duration of their case.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
Practicing medical malpractice and personal injury law allows me to fight for clients and their families against those who have caused them harm. By doing this, I can help recover significant amounts of money for my clients at their time of need.
What do you like best about your career?
Helping those who have been hurt by the negligence of others and providing justice for these harms and losses.

The staff at Silberstein, Awad & Miklos puts forth their best efforts to make sure our clients are informed about their case and we work diligently for the benefit of each client.
What are your strengths and style?
I have been recognized as a successful trial and appellate attorney by clients and peers alike. Elected President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association for the 2006-2007 term and Governor of the American Association for Justice, I head my team of attorneys by setting an example of leadership. I have also received the highest rating for legal and ethical standards (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell, earning myself a spot in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
Personal Interests:
I, along with my family and members of the firm, enjoy spending time volunteering at community-based organizations, including the Dominican American Association in Queens County. Volunteer work includes free legal services, educational seminars and assisting in the enrollment of citizens as voters.
