What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe a client should be as fully informed as possible in order to fully understand their rights.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients. Depending on the type of documents, I may recommend to the client that the firm should represent them in the particular matter.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I am willing to coach clients if the matter is not complicated, but always recommend legal representation if the matter appears at all difficult.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I decided to become a lawyer because I enjoy helping others. My father was an attorney and my grandfather worked in the courts as a court officer so I had an early exposure to the law and the benefits of being a lawyer and helping others.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I am the father of four children. The experiences, joys and stresses of fatherhood have made me a better lawyer. It has taught me to put myself in every client's shoes who walks into my office and to better empathize with their problems.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I have chosen bankruptcy and personal injury law as my primary areas of practice because of the great satisfaction of helping the small person or company.
What do you like best about your career?
My ability to help others and pick and choose the cases that I take. I like to be fighting for the client or cause that I believe in and it is fulfilling to have that opportunity and choice.
Tell us about your law firm:
We have a firm of six attorneys and a team of fantastic paralegals all committed to the goal of helping others. We put that commitment first above making money which has led to great success.
What are your strengths and style?
My strengths are my ability to fight vigorously for the small person. I am also a strong problem solver and most clients have a problem that needs to be solved.
Personal Interests:
I am an avid reader. I also enjoy working out and participate actively in triathlons. My favorite interest is spending time with my wife and four children.
