• Recently a widow was being advised by her step-son's attorney to sign away her rights to her house. I intervened in this matter and preserved the widow's house.
• I routinely help individuals and couples set up their Trusts, Wills, and Powers of Attorney.

I will talk to people on the phone or by email for free. In person consultations will cost.
I have standard "package fees" for services which I quote after a potential client fills out a questionnaire listing their assets so I can determine what services are required. For example, extensive real property holdings require more work, as do specialized assets such as patents, etc. I accept ARAG and Legal Shield.

I chose this area of practice after observing problems caused by intestate succession and lengthy, expensive and acrimonious probate proceedings in my own family.
Having an educated client assists greatly in Estate Planning matters, as the persons know the general principals and objectives involved in crafting an Estate Plan that would help their situation.
I am willing to review documents, but have had situations where the client did not have specialized knowledge and therefore did not understand why the language used did not meet their particular needs.
I am willing to help my clients obtain their objectives.
Before opening up my own practice, I completed an Estate Planning internship at a small firm in Berkeley.
Prior to that time I was the Real Estate Services Manager at the University of California at Berkeley, a Management Fellow for Business and Administrative Services and a Senior Analyst in the Chancellor's Office for Undergraduate Affairs.
Before working at UC Berkeley, I was the Business Manager/Controller at the Pacific School of Religion, in Berkeley, California, with overall responsibility for the business functions of the school.
I have seen problems caused by no or inadequate Estate Plans, including estrangement or the wrong individuals inheriting, unintentional omissions of important friends and relatives, etc. My goal is to prevent problems, and to make sure my client's objectives are met.
I am patient and listen to my clients, and I am willing to work hard to help them achieve their objectives. I am compassionate and efficient, and have high ethical standards. I have numerous very favorable ratings on Berkeley Parents Network, AVVO, Thumbtack and a few on Yelp.Personal interests:
I enjoy ceramics, crafts, reading, and volunteer in local Oakland public schools (Joaquin Miller Elementary, Montera Middle School--Friends of Montera Woodshop--and Skyline High School), and First Presbyterian Church in Berkeley.
