I love the practice of criminal law, including DUI and traffic law.
Informed clients that stay in communication with me help me do my job better.
If a client brought me a document dealing with an area of law I was competent in, I would be willing to take a look at it.
In the criminal context, I always suggest that a person ask the Court to appoint a public defender to represent him or her if he or she doesn't have the finances to hire a lawyer.
For my first job out of law school (graduated 2006), I worked for the Coles County State's Attorney's Office. I was employed as an assistant state's attorney.
I am currently a criminal defense lawyer in private practice. Over 90% of my practice is in the areas of criminal, DUI, and traffic defense. I don't dabble in criminal defense; it is what I do.
I don't try to be someone I am not. Whether speaking to a jury or a client in my office, I am myself. I think genuineness is my greatest strength.
Personal interests:I enjoy watching a good movie or reading a good book. Also, if the weather permits, I enjoy riding my bike or hiking in the woods.

Any past disbarments and suspensions (with possible exceptions for minor violations or nonpayment of dues, in our discretion) will be indicated accordingly in the badge. Member attorneys are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
