My firm is focused on the intricate nature of all things concerning criminal defense. We believe that people who are facing cases such as these deserve to be treated with the seriousness their situation demands. Whether our clients come to us asking for help regarding violent crimes, DUI, or any type of criminal charge, we are able to help give them the legal support that they need.
I established this firm in 2001 with the help of my business partner, Jeff Thomas.
Previous Employment Summary
Before my work at the Law Office of Thomas & Paulk, I served as a supervising attorney handling DUI, traffic, and misdemeanor cases before moving to become a Felony Prosecutor in the 13th Judicial District and later as the State Attorney's Office Liaison to Law Enforcement. By holding many different types of positions and levels within the legal industry, I have been able to understand all aspects of the law. I can my clients the full benefit of over a decade of knowledge.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe that clients should stay well-informed on all legal issues and am always willing to help them best understand the situation they are in.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
If a client offers a document that I feel will help me towards my goal of a successful result, I am always willing to review it.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
In an initial consultation, the client and I will sit down to discuss the unique situation and decide upon the best way for me to offer my legal assistance.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I wanted to become a lawyer, because I believe in helping and offering assistance to the people around me. By giving clients the benefit of my years of skill and knowledge in the legal field, I am able to make a difference in their future. I always wanted to be able offer my help to those who were in need of it.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
My experience and complete immersion in the law throughout my life has given me a deep appreciation for the legal process. I understand the different steps that must be taken to get the desired result and how I can offer help to assist my clients in getting the outcome they want.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I believe that criminal defense is a challenging area of law, but often one of the most enriching. Trying to combat against prosecutors requires a keen eye for detail and an ability to be three steps ahead of the game. It's often a high stakes situation and I thrive under the pressure, while I also deeply appreciate getting the chance to help a person fight for a better future.
What do you like best about your career?
I love the ability to apply myself and devote myself completely to this job. I love a challenge and having to combat criminal charges offers me a chance to be tough, creative and do something that will better someone else's life.
