Collectively, the three partners in the firm have roughly sixty years of experience. Blau & Brown, PC was formed in 2006 by founding partners Steven Bennett Blau and Jason T. Brown. Followed shortly by Blau, Brown & Leonard, LLC when Shelly Leonard became a partner.

Example cases

I was appointed by the court as class counsel in a Class Action to represent thousands of plaintiffs who were shorted proper wages. The company compelled the employees to work over forty hours a week, but anything in excess of 40 was "off the books." We procured multi-million dollar settlement for the class on the brink of a trial.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Class Actions and Mass Torts provide a potent mechanism to vindicate the collective rights of the masses. Logically, it enables me to help more people through the course of the litigation.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The law is a complex, evolving organism that contains powerful tools for those who harness it properly, and inescapable pitfalls for those who miss the mark. The choice of counsel is critical, and articulate counsel will help educate the client on the legal process and the applicable law to enable and empower the client to make the right decisions about the case.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will review any and all documents given to me by my client during the litigation process. It is important to properly designate the documents so the attorney-client privilege attaches if it's intended to be a confidential communication.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Absolutely not. While I wish everyone the best in the legal process, we cannot assist pro se litigants.

I am a Former Special Agent and Legal Adviser to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

My diversified background amplifies my ability as a lawyer. I have had the fortune to win tournaments in chess and tennis, which early on taught me that strategy is integral in success. My work in the FBI helps me keep things in perspective, and you will find that I am tactical, methodical and cool under pressure, which facilitates my serving as the architect of complex litigation.
