Dealing with the Aftermath: 7 Mistakes to Avoid!

Example Cases

I represented a person who was injured in an auto accident caused by the defective tires on their vehicle. This person suffered a serious brain injury as a result of the accident. I was able to get an award of $1 million for this individual.

In another case, I represented an individual who severely hurt their shoulder after slipping and falling while going about their daily routine. The court found negligence to be the cause of the person's fall, and I was able to get $135,000 for my client.

Firm Focus and History

Helping injured citizens and bereaved families is my life's work and the focus of my firm. "Our family fighting for your family" is my firm's slogan. My wife and I fight every day for financial settlements for personal injury victims and families who lost loved ones due to the negligence of others.

My wife Debi and I founded the firm in 2003 to serve the community of Southern Florida. A community that my family has come to know, love, and live in. Growing up and attending public schools in Plantation, Florida, I am proud to headquarter my firm in the community that helped raise me.

Previous Employment Summary

Previously, I worked for the Southern Florida personal injury firm of Rosen & Monaldi, which became Rosen & Chalik after I became a managing partner. It was there where I worked with my wife, attorney Debi Chalik, for the first time. We later took over the firm after the founding partner retired. I am proud to have worked exclusively in personal injury my entire legal career.

Activities and Awards

I am the president of my synagogue, Temple Kol Ami Emanu, right here in Plantation, Florida.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

My law firm was founded on the principles of honesty, integrity, and a commitment to the rights of the injured, so I believe that it is very important that clients get all the factual information they can to better understand their rights. The library section on my website is a place where prospective clients can educate themselves on a variety of legal issues.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

When you bring your case to my law firm, you will either be dealing with me, my wife, or both of us. We will review any document you prepare, free of charge.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Being in a serious accident or losing a cherished loved one can be a difficult and confusing time, especially when it comes to knowing whom you can trust. While we can try to give you the tools to convincingly convey your side of the story in court, many individuals are surprised to find how comforting it is to have an experienced expert out in front fighting for them in what can be a tough battle.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I have always been interested in law and justice, even from an early age in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up, I was fascinated by law and anything that had to do with criminology, the prison system, and courtrooms.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have three wonderful children with my wife and founding partner of this firm, Debi Chalik. I can really empathize with people when something happens to injure their child.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I wanted to help people and families.

What do you like best about your career?

I love working with my wife every day in the community where I grew up, helping the wonderful people of Southern Florida. Our names are on the firm, and that means something to me.

Tell us about your law firm:

My wife and I have high standards in terms of our staff and how they speak to our clients. I truly believe we have the best support staff in all of Florida. We have three full-time staff members who are fluent in Spanish, to support the diverse community that makes Southern Florida the vibrant place it is today.

What are your strengths and style?

My strengths are love for and fascination with the law, and the fact that I cannot help but take every case personally. I am a straight shooter and a family man.

Personal Interests:

I am a husband and a father to three wonderful children. I am the president of my synagogue, Temple Kol Ami Emanu. I love to play tennis; I actually attended my undergraduate university on a full tennis scholarship. I am interested in politics, and interned for CNN during the Persian Gulf War.
