What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

A well informed client is a better client. Understanding there is a difference between knowing something about the law and practicing law is key.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am willing to review documents prepared by clients at a discounted rate.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This is dangerous territory in terms of legal malpractice and I would prefer not to do this.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

As a young man, I greatly admired a small town lawyer for his courage, his intelligence, thoroughness, his confident, poised manner and his compassion for those less fortunate.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

From 1999-2002 I had serious health issues and subsequent complications; I overcame these. The process of that recovery has contributed the most to the better man and lawyer I am today.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I have always enjoyed helping people preserve their wealth from life's work for family or good causes.

We do Pro Bono work for Nevada Legal Services.

What do you like best about your career?

I most enjoy helping people face and recover from legal challenges and preserve their estates.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner. My wife and I work together daily. We like to decide together on the cases we choose to represent. I have enjoyed large law firms and was a partner in two of the best. Solo practice is very different-- that difference is what I like best.

What are your strengths and style?

My biggest strength is my understanding and working very well with people. My style is empathetic, gentlemanly, and courteous so long as it is reciprocated. I am efficient and effective. I can be aggressive when necessary and appropriate.

Personal Interests:

I love to read, sing and play acoustic guitar, hike, travel and study different places/people.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
