Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

I realized early there was the opportunity for me to do something special not available to others in my family, to obtain an education and use it to help people. While most everything has changed since then, I am still motivated by those values and aspirations.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

I suffered a serious auto accident prior to becoming a lawyer and was a client myself. That experience gives me a full understanding of clients' concerns after an accident: facing difficulties with work, school, medical bills, and family pressures. Being a former client and accident victim helps me communicate very effectively with the new, potential personal injury client seeking a lawyer.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

The desire to help good people. My sister is a social worker, we have similar values and a strong moral compass pointed in the right direction.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Obtaining a good result for a deserving client. No matter the size of the case, the gratification realized from achieving justice is immense. I also thoroughly enjoy the challenges of building a business and being an entrepreneur.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I work in a charming, historical Victorian building with other highly dedicated, friendly and supportive solo practitioners. It is a terrific environment for clients and lawyers alike.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I appreciate interest in the law and encourage self-study. As society gets more complicated and complex, awareness and knowledge of our legal system provides guidance for almost all aspects of daily life.

Prior to establishing my office, I worked for local Bay Area Plaintiff law firms, and had the wonderful experience clerking at an international business and litigation firm based in Antwerp, Belgium.

I am personable, direct, energetic and always ensure I speak to my clients, not at them, with an open ear to their questions and concerns. Often I am told by attorneys I remind them "how things used to be" which gives me immense pride, because professionalism and integrity are values for a lawyer that mean the most to me.

Personal interests:

I have a very active life outside the office, including motorcycling, athletics and sports, the arts, and enjoying the beauty of the Bay Area.
