How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Families, individuals and small business people need a chance at a "fresh start." The Bankruptcy Code offers that. It also offers the promise of ending unfair and deceptive debt collection practices and helps to level the playing field between large corporations and individuals.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

A well educated client is well prepared to ask pertinent and intelligent questions. Bankruptcy is a complex area of law. Clients are encouraged to seek the assistance of a qualified professional. Someone like myself, who will take the time necessary to thoroughly review their financial circumstances and represent their interests.

Prior to my work as a consumer bankruptcy lawyer, I worked with the faculty at Franklin Pierce Law Center (Concord, NH) seeking changes to New Hampshire law to allow for greater protection of New Hampshire families' homes. I also worked with the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests on New Hampshire legislation.

A substantial portion of my work involves bankruptcy representation in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Hampshire. I represent consumers and businesses before the federal bankruptcy court. My staff and I are experienced at handling the issues financial difficulties create for individuals, families and small businesses. Additionally, I work in the area of consumer concerns for fair credit reporting and fair debt collections practices representation. I am a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates.

I believe in preparation and professionalism. I strive to get the facts straight and succeed on my client's behalf each and every time, the first time. I believe I am approachable, but direct in my counseling and recommendations.

Personal interests:

I love New Hampshire; its people, its environment and its opportunities. I love the outdoors; the woods and forest, mountains, lakes and seacoast. I spend lots of my personal time attending my kids' activities: sports, music and school events.
