Firm Focus and History
I founded Puryear Law P.C. in 2010 to provide my clients with the prompt, professional, and dedicated legal services that they deserve. Since day one, the focus has been on ensuring that the clients' needs are fully met.
Previous Employment Summary
I have worked for a variety of law firms and for the federal government, handling criminal prosecutions, criminal defense, business law, transactional matters, and other legal issues too numerous to list. That experience enables me to offer my clients the breadth and depth of legal knowledge that they need.
Activities and Awards
I believe in the value of Pro Bono legal work that helps support our community.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe that my clients should understand the legal process they are going through, although I caution clients against taking legal action without an attorney. This is because the legal system can be complex, and one wrong move can cost a client dearly.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am willing to work with my clients to review documents that they have prepared, and make changes to those documents if necessary.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I am willing to coach clients to help them represent themselves, on an hourly basis, although I believe that a client is better served with representation by an attorney.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I enjoy helping others to reach their goals in life, and as an attorney I am able to do that every day. Whether I am defending a client charged with a crime, helping a client to resolve a difficult family situation, or working with a client to resolve a civil matter, I enjoy my work and the results that I produce.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
My scientific background allows me to understand the complex issues that arise in almost every area of law these days. The experience that I have gained in both the public and private sectors allows me to bring a unique perspective to every case. My sales experience gives me the interpersonal skills that are vital when representing a client in and out of court.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I selected criminal defense due to the thrill of representing my clients.
What do you like best about your career?
I like the fact that every morning when I wake up, I know that the work I do will make a difference in the lives of my clients. I have never dreaded going to the office, and relish every day of work with my clients.

I use state-of-the-art technology to reduce costs and increase productivity, while safeguarding my clients' confidential information.
