Firm Focus and History
At Raymond T. Faller Co., L.P.A, we are focused on client-centered advocacy in both the Domestic Relations and Criminal Defense areas of the law. I represent all of our clients with issues in Domestic Relations whose needs range from post decree motions for child support modification or similar to full contested divorces. In addition, we are a criminal defense practice, providing representation to people charged with crimes in Juvenile, Municipal (misdemeanors) and Common Pleas (felonies) Courts, as well as those wanting to pursue appellate issues. Whether it is in our office, while pursuing an investigation, in negotiations, or in the courtroom in a trial setting, we will represent your interests in both the domestic and criminal areas of the law.
Previous Employment Summary
I have worked with Raymond T. Faller Co., LPA since being licensed to practice law. Prior to that, I worked at the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office. I also spent a year in my last year of law school working in a legal clinic where, with my limited license, I was able to take on criminal defense cases and get a head start on trial practice experience.
Activities and Awards
In college, at Butler University, I received the servant leadership award for my work in the community with a wide range of individuals including victims of domestic violence, the homeless, and children from low-income households. Today, I continue my work in the community when I can by volunteering for Tender Mercies, a shelter serving homeless persons with histories of emotional and/or mental disabilities by providing them housing and related services.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I appreciate when my client takes an active interest in their case and it is important that my client understand exactly what is going on because we are dealing with their life. However, the best possible scenario allows for education between myself and the client as opposed to outside sources including the internet, word of mouth, or advice from other attorneys. This helps keep both myself and the client focused on the end goal.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am willing to review any document prepared by my client. I am eager to know what issues are important to them and if possible am open to fitting them into the proper legal framework.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
If you want to represent yourself, go for it! It is your life! I will caution you though that the legal system can be terribly frustrating and frightening to navigate without any kind of legal expertise.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
After focusing so much on service in college, I found that I aspired for a career centered around helping another person in the most effective and efficient way possible. I pursued a career as an attorney for this reason.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
My first job was bagging groceries at Kroger when I was 16 years old. I have been employed ever since. From restaurants, to life guard chairs, to teaching at community colleges, to interning with the State Senate of Indiana, to homeless shelters. My work experience in the law and beyond has made me an open-minded, resourceful, hard-working individual who cares about people. I like people and I have always wanted to help them. This is why I practice law.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
Domestic Relations can be messy and hard, that is guaranteed. However, at the end of the day, it is about talking and negotiating one on one with people and guiding them in making some of the most important decisions they've ever been faced with. I enjoy having a one-on-one relationship with my client and representing them directly. This applies also to criminal defense.
What do you like best about your career?
Whether by negotiating or fighting hard at trial, the best part of my job is getting a good result for my client. That is a "win" in my book.
Tell us about your law firm:
Raymond T. Faller Co., LPA is made up of 3 full-time employees: me, Raymond T. Faller, and our assistant, Lisa Huff. Ray has been practicing over 30 years; the focus of his practice now is mostly criminal defense and estate based but at one time, he had more of a general practice that included domestic relations. Though we are a small firm, we are located in downtown Cincinnati in the 810 Sycamore building, which houses offices for over 80 attorneys who are in small firms like ours, or are solo practitioners. I am surrounded by a wealth of experience and positive reinforcement.
What are your strengths and style?
I advocate for my clients in a professional way. I believe it is important to have a working relationship with opposing counsel. However, my commitment is to my client and I am willing to fight hard to get the result he or she wants.

Working hard, running/spinning/pilates, and socializing with friends and family.
