My firm focuses on real estate and commercial litigation and all matters relating thereto. We work diligently and ethically to provide cost effective services and are always vigilant towards resolution of problems outside of court when possible.
Example casesIn 2008, I handled a case for an environmental remediation company. The property involved had been owned by Motorola which had a large complex containing numerous buildings. Motorola sold to a holding company which sold to a private group of investors. The new owners took over where Motorola left off regarding required property clean-up. Bids were submitted. The clean-up company which won the bid could not finish the work at the bid price. Eventually, the new owners sued my client (who had prepared partial preliminary reports ten years earlier) and others. I was able to get my client out of the complex litigation fairly early on in the process.
In 2007, an employee of my client sued for discrimination in Federal Court. I filed a Motion for Summary Judgment and obtained judgment in favor of my client, plus attorney's fees and costs.

I chose real estate as my primary area of expertise because in the USA owning a piece of real estate is so important to the owner and so many things can go wrong. Real estate issues can involve everything from family law to inheritance and history.
I am careful to ascertain what clients believe to be the law applicable to their case and am careful to explain any misconceptions. I do not hesitate to let a potential client assist in the work at appropriate times and levels, mindful of my duties as the attorney.
I am always willing to review documents for clients depending, in part, on the particular client and the particular document.
I am uncomfortable with coaching clients who want to represent themselves in litigation as the rules can be difficult to understand and in certain matters which I believe will cost more than they are worth.
My firm was established in 1977. After becoming a senior partner in a large law firm, I decided I could do it all on my own and obtain faster and less expensive results for my clients.
I started with a small law firm, I moved to a mid-sized law firm, and then took a position as in-house counsel for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation. When LTIC down-sized, I joined a large law firm, became a senior partner, and in 1997 started my own firm.
My experience as in-house counsel for LTIC with escrow and title offices has put me in a better position than most attorneys to understand both sides of a real estate transaction.
My style is to always do the best I can for my clients in the most cost effective way.
Personal interests:My personal interests are horseback riding, reading and snorkeling (not necessarily in that order on any given day).
