My name is David Todd and I've been representing Texans in personal injury law and family law matters since 1989. I was born in Dallas, where I was active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning my Eagle Scout rank. I graduated from St. Mark's school of Texas in 1982. I attended the University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate studies, and I earned a BA degree in Honors Liberal Arts (the "Plan II" program) with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1986. I received my JD from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989, where I served on The Review of Litigation. I founded my law firm in 1989 and I have practiced law in Austin, Texas ever since. I am a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, and I am a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the Family Law Section of the Austin Bar Association.
My focus is representing individuals injured by the negligence of others, as well as those facing divorce and other family law issues, such as child custody, child support, asset division, and modification or enforcement of existing family court orders. Each case receives personal, attorney attention (not just paralegal work) and we take pride in making sure the client stays informed about and involved with their case every step of the way. By focusing on the few cases that meet our standards for acceptance, we are able to devote the time and effort needed to obtain the best possible results.
After years of litigating divorce and injury cases, I wrote two books, The Texas Personal Injury Guide and The Texas Divorce and Family Law Guide, to help Texans learn how to avoid common mistakes and protect their rights so they can resolve their case and get on with their lives.
As part of our commitment to helping injured children, we donate 10% of our fee from each child injury case to the Dell Children's Medical Center. We are also a proud supporter of the Austin Center for Child Protection.
