What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is important for clients to have a basic understanding of how the justice system works and to formulate an idea of the issues that affect their interests. However, any interpretation of the law and how its applied, as well as the strategy involved in accomplishing a client's intentions, should be left to the discretion and training of an attorney.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Sure.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No!!! Ethical concerns!!

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

My experiences in life have led me to develop a particular skill of wise, prompt decision-making. Combined with my almost feverish work ethic, I enjoy offering my skills to those needing the justice that our system can provide.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Independence, decision making - boarding school
Hardworking - grew up on farm, college athlete
Network - family, nature of O'burg community, coworkers

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I am a "people's lawyer." The work I do provides a service greatly needed by those in the Orangeburg community and those impacted by Orangeburg.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy contact with people of all different types and the opportunity to advocate for someone with legitimate need.

Tell us about your law firm:

We have a broad range of experienced attorneys, from politician to academic.

What are your strengths and style?

Assertive, aggressive, innovative, responsiveness and attentive to the needs of clients.
