What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Well informed prospective clients are able to make sound judgments and better evaluate their true options.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

These are useful in helping to refine client thinking, but often lack coordination with tax laws.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Not applicable.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I came from a background of community service and business. I enjoy the counseling role that a trust and estate lawyer often plays.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have been educated since law school as a trust and estate lawyer but my litigation experience and experience as a speaker and mediator help me to help clients to avoid problems in advance.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

This area of practice is often complicated. But clients tell me that I make complication clear and that I understand their goals.

What do you like best about your career?

Helping clients to protect their family and financial legacy from divorce, lawsuits and taxation.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have great partners, associates, paralegals and support staff that work as a team for the client.

What are your strengths and style?

I really listen to and implement what the client wants but I can also offer clear alternatives they might not be aware of.

Speaking, writing, teaching, travel, philanthropy.
