Papers and Publications
We are authoring and filming a wide-ranging series of educational videos for both YouTube and our website on subjects and concerns of victims of personal injury.
Example Cases
I represented a man confined to a wheelchair. His case was turned down by two other law firms because of difficult liability issues. After four years of litigation, we obtained a settlement of $3.4 million and lifetime medical care.
I represented the widow of three children of a man shot dead in a convenience store. We proved the death was a result of negligent security practice and obtained a settlement of $2.3 million, the full insurance limits.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
We support and encourage clients to be completely familiar with all legal issues important to their cases. It is important for the client to have the knowledge to make the right decisions.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am always open to reviewing anything provided by my client.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
In cases involving just property damage or non-permanent injuries, we will provide assistance to help a client represent themselves. With rare exceptions, I don't believe most people with permanent injuries should represent themselves.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
Even in high school, I gravitated to the law as a career. I was drawn to the many aspects of research, writing and representing clients as a career that would never be dull and allow me to help people.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I was the sixth of eight children. We never lacked for anything but I know the daily struggles of working and middle class people to provide for their families. I worked a lot of jobs to put myself through undergraduate and law school. It left me with the philosophy that all honest labor should be respected and each individual has rights and worth as a human being.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
One of my jobs was with the post office where I was a shop steward. I liked representing people and trying to come to fair resolutions. Out of that experience, I thought trial work would be exciting, interesting and provide opportunities to help people.
What do you like best about your career?
In many cases, I am able to get justice for people who would have no chance if left to the mercy of large corporations. I also enjoy constantly learning about medicine to enable me to educate juries as to the full meaning of my clients' injuries.
Tell us about your law firm:
I am a solo practitioner so I work directly with all my clients. I am blessed to have the same office manager for over twenty years who has a great rapport with clients and doctors' staff. My other secretaries are well experienced in our area of the law and always are willing to go the extra mile in working with clients.
What are your strengths and style?
I prepare all cases thoroughly, am comfortable in public speaking without notes, have excellent knowledge of medical issues, and 30 years’ experience with the court system in Florida.
Personal Interests:
I love outdoor activities such as scuba diving, hiking, kayaking, rafting (perhaps because I spend so much time inside). I am a jazz fan (swing, bebop and post bop). I am involved in promoting literacy, especially among the young.
