Firm Focus and History
Our firm was established in April of 2004, when Mr. Hedberg joined my practice after leaving the Sacramento District Attorney's Office. We are a small firm dedicated to the individual attention to our clients. We are former prosecutors with a wealth of courtroom experience and real-world knowledge. We are in demand in many Northern California Counties including Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Sonoma and others. We are well-versed in the intricacies of each different jurisdiction.
Previous Employment Summary
I was a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Siskiyou from 1997 to 2000. I have been in private practice since leaving government service.
What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
Education is the cornerstone of protecting yourself and your rights.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
We review all relevant documents.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Yes.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
My first inclination towards the law came when I was young and saw the movie Gideon's Trumpet. I was drawn to the power of the law to help those less fortunate and in need.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I have a broad base of experience and empathize well with clients. It is important to find common ground to show that I am not just an attorney but also a person who is interested in the situations my clients find themselves in.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I have been interested in criminal law since I can remember. I went to law school solely to become a criminal law practitioner.
What do you like best about your career?
Every day is interesting.
Tell us about your law firm:
All cases at my firm are handled by a single attorney. Although I have a partner, once you meet with one of us, that attorney is your lawyer from beginning to end.
What are your strengths and style?
Empathic, intuitive, understanding. I am very good at negotiating for my client's when the time is right, and fighting for my clients when it becomes necessary. Criminal law practice is more an art than a science - something you work at every day.
Personal Interests:
The outdoors, reading, and traveling.
