My firm focuses on helping people get through a difficult time in their life with dignity and respect. We help clients during custody cases, paternity and termination cases, child protective service cases, estate planning and probate and adoptions. I established my firm in December 2004 so I could focus my practice on family law issues.
Example casesThere is not a proto-typical family law case. The circumstances, interests and personalities are unique to each case. Whether it is mediation, a hearing or a trial before a judge and jury, I work with each client to find a resolution that best meets their interests.

I decided to focus on family law because I wanted to help individuals and families. Family law cases can be emotional and sometimes devastating. My office is sensitive to our clients' needs, and we try to make their transition easier by listening, negotiating and presenting their argument in front of the judge/jury in a respectful way.
I believe that each client should educate themselves to the best of their ability. However, clients also need to understand that the internet and friends are not always an ideal resource for education unless they are relying on state specific documents. What is valid in California may not be valid in Texas. Clients should speak with their attorney and obtain legal education through them. Attorneys have practiced the law and have received extensive training.
Clients should trust their lawyer's advice over anything on the internet. With the advent of the internet, clients are increasingly more aware of legal issues. While there are some good and informative self-help websites, clients need to be cautious before drawing any conclusions concerning their particular legal matter before consulting with an experienced attorney. Each case is unique. Potential clients should never consider comparisons or advice from non-lawyers re-iterating "similar" cases or results. That said, I am always happy to discuss matters with an educated client.
This will be considered on a case by case basis. Again, clients should be wary of obtaining forms or templates and merely inserting their personal information. My preference is to draft personalized documents for my clients. I would not accept pleadings or other documents prepared by a client to be used in any litigation.
I am happy to have a consult with all clients to determine how best to meet their legal needs.
• 1997-1998 Associate Attorney at Dale & Klein, LLP in McAllen, Texas. I focused on insurance defense litigation.
• 1998-2002 Associate Attorney at Curney, Garcia, Farmer & Pickering in San Antonio, Texas. I practiced insurance defense litigation.
• 2002-2004 Practiced Family Law at the McCormick Firm, PLLC in San Antonio, Texas.
I worked as a litigator for 5 years before I decided to focus on family law. My litigation experience has helped me become a better lawyer in and out of the courtroom for my client.
I am assertive and direct. I listen to my clients and I understand that no one knows their case better than them. I always try to see if the parties can come to an agreement out of court. However, I am always ready to take a case to hearing or trial, and will do my best to protect my client's interests.
Personal interests:When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family.
