My practice focuses on business, real estate and estate planning. We work with entrepreneurs who want to get up and running and with businesses who have compliance issues or business conflicts.Example cases
I recently worked with a client to purchase the building they were renting and worked with them on leasing arrangements with new tenants.
I'm also currently working with several clients to address how various states' regulations affect their businesses.

I offer a free initial consultation of up to half an hour for new clients.
Fees are discussed during the initial client consultation to determine whether a fixed price or hourly rate for legal services is appropriate. Fixed fees are most common in estate planning and certain corporate transactions. Fixed price services exist in certain other situations; please inquire.

I enjoy working with people who have a direction and a focus as to how to accomplish their goals. When a problem arises for clients in my particular areas of focus, I find that they tend to be a bit more objective about achieving practical outcomes.
I think it's always a great thing for folks to become educated about legal issues and how they may affect them. An informed client is always a good one, but I like clients to be open to a lawyer's experience and insight so I can best provide advice and assistance.
Sure. We have unbundled legal services in New Hampshire, and I have worked with clients periodically who are interested in a more limited scope of representation.
I have done this on occasion for my clients, but the challenge in working with clients who want to represent themselves is that they may not be fully prepared for all the issues that arise at the actual hearing or event. I am cautious about providing this service for that reason but will do it if the client appreciates that risk.
I started as a judicial law clerk at the New Hampshire Supreme Court from 1997-1999. Next, I was an Assistant Attorney General in the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office from 1999-2005. From 2005-2007, I was associated with a larger New Hampshire firm, and from 2007-2009 I was a partner in my own firm.
I'm involved in the community and with community organizations. As a result of that involvement, I see and interact with a large cross-section of people and businesses, which helps me understand the diverse issues my clients may face.
I tend to be very practical with my clients and provide them with anticipated outcomes early on in the process. I advise clients based on the reality of what I see, not necessarily what a client wants to hear. I am candid with my clients.Personal interests:
I am involved in Rotary International as a club past president, I am Council Commissioner of the local Boy Scout Council, and I am on the supervisory committee for St. Mary's Bank. I am involved with many of my sons' activities.
