Firm Focus and History

Janak Law Firm was established in May, 2003 and is a small firm located in downtown Cary with a practice that focuses on consumer bankruptcy and real estate matters. Our goal is not to become the biggest law firm or have the most clients, but to provide the highest level of customer services, care and expertise in an effort to resolve our clients' problems with the best possible result.

Previous Employment Summary

Prior to opening his own firm, I was an associate at Jordan Price Wall Gray Jones & Carlton, PLLC in Raleigh, North Carolina; Solomon & Mitchell, PLLC in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to moving to North Carolina, I practiced law for just over a year in Buffalo, New York.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think clients should educate themselves on legal issues but should keep in mind that the information is general in nature and that not all information is accurate. For example, the law in North Carolina is different than the law in Texas, so an article written by a Texas attorney may not help someone in North Carolina. A local attorney should be consulted for major legal decisions involving a person's rights.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will review documents and provide advice on how to proceed.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am willing to help prepare clients to represent themselves as necessary.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Please contact me for additional information.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Please contact me for additional information.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I like providing bankruptcy and consumer law services because I can really help turn a client's life around. A person in financial difficulty experiences a great deal of stress and frustration which increases with constant calls from creditors and debt collectors. Representing consumers and protecting their rights is very satisfying.

Understanding Fees

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
