Example Cases
Our firm is at the forefront of lawsuits against banks to stop their reckless and deceitful foreclosures. We have obtained court ordered preliminary injunctions which prevent banks from moving forward with foreclosures and evictions. Unfortunately, lawsuits against banks to force them to comply with HAMP (Home Affordable Modification Program) were necessary. The goal under that program is to reduce people's mortgage payments to 31% of their gross monthly income. We have secured hundreds of loan modifications, which have reduced interest rates and principal balances.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
In order to protect themselves, all clients should educate themselves on legal issues. However, moving forward with a lawsuit without representation is a dangerous decision to make, regardless of how educated a person is. I would recommend that all people have an attorney to protect their rights.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am more than willing to review documents prepared by clients.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Although I would recommend having an attorney, I am available for consultations to coach a client regarding how to best represent themselves properly in person.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I wanted to be a lawyer ever since I was a child and wrote a report about Thurgood Marshall, the first African American to sit on the Supreme Court. I thought that his struggles and successes were fascinating. He went through life as if he had no fears because he had the confidence to succeed. I wanted to have that confidence.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
I feel that my experience with an array of different clients and cases has taught me never to judge a book by its cover. I keep an open mind and am always on the pulse of creating new law. Fighting against an opposing party with deep pockets does not frighten me.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
Business litigation has its fingers in many different aspects of law, including business disputes, compliance with statutes and regulations to run a company properly, and employment law. I cannot say that I chose this area of law - it chose me.
What do you like best about your career?
I love helping clients and standing up for them. Being a lawyer provides a client with a line of defense.
Tell us about your law firm:
Callister & Associates employs 5 lawyers, and 15 support staff members. We have a team of excellent employees that are available to solve our client's biggest and toughest problems in a fast and efficient manner.
What are your strengths and style?
My strengths are being thoroughly organized and prepared. Of course, litigation is a team effort, so working with a wonderful staff is definitely helpful.
