Preferred New Clients

As a Board Certified Personal Injury Law Specialist, I only accept cases where someone has been seriously injured or a family member has been killed and it's someone else's fault. I also accept cases on behalf of individuals who have been injured or killed as a result of a defective product.

We represent injured people worldwide. We accept cases involving maritime injuries that occur anywhere around the world. Our ideal client is someone who was wrongfully injured in a maritime accident through no fault of his or her own that has tried but been unable to return to work.

Example Cases

• I represented a young man who badly injured his back when he fell down some stairs without safety rails. He worked for a billion dollar company who could afford to hire an army of lawyers and blame the fall 100% on my client. After I investigated the case, took statements from witnesses, and hired some of the best expert witnesses in the country, the company agreed to pay my client $1,500,000 to settle his case. The case took less than one year from start to finish.
• I represented an offshore cook who was injured in a fall on a crew boat. His spine was badly injured and got infected. The companies blamed my client for his own injuries but after spending thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours working on his case, the company eventually agreed to pay my client $1,400,000 to settle his case.

Firm Focus and History

The sole purpose of my law firm is to help people who have been injured, or the family members of those killed, through the neglect of some person or company. We are typically fighting on our clients' behalf against large, multi-billion dollar corporations or insurance companies.?We provide FREE BOOKS, Insider Tips, and Special Guides and other information to injured individuals and their family members with no cost and no obligation.

Previous Employment Summary

My partner and I both started our legal careers at huge, national law firms and both represented multi-billion dollar corporations and insurance companies. In other words, we represented the powerful against the powerless.

After realizing that we did not want to represent the powerful against the powerless, we both ended up working at a prominent firm together in Houston, Texas that focused on representing individuals and family members.

After working together at that firm for a few years, we realized we shared the same philosophy on the best way to run a law firm and provide legal services. We decided to start our own law firm so we could put 100% of our focus on providing the best legal services possible to people with serious, legitimate legal cases.

Activities and Awards

Both founding partners are Board-Certified in Personal Injury Law by the Teas Board of Legal Specialization.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Most people don't need a lawyer to help them with their personal injury legal matter. All they need is information. In the more serious cases, a lawyer is definitely necessary.

I try to provide as much free information up front as I can and that way, even if I can't take your case, hopefully you will learn something valuable that will help you handle it on your own, or will help you interview and select the right lawyer for your case.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will review any document a client wants to me to review and I'll do it free of charge.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I will help clients who want to represent themselves avoid the trips, traps, and pitfalls that await them. I will also let them know if I think they are being stupid for representing themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

My mom died when I was 10-years old because someone was negligent. My dad was forced to bring a lawsuit against the responsible party because the person refused to take any responsibility at all. We won that lawsuit and although I would never substitute any amount of money for my mom, my dad, my brother and I have been able to do a lot of good with the money.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have first-hand experience in being the victim of negligence so I understand what my clients are going through. That makes me better able to communicate what my clients are going through to the insurance companies and multi-billion dollar corporations that owe them money for causing their pain.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

To help people.

What do you like best about your career?

I get to choose who I represent, how many people I represent, what kind of cases I take, and who I work with.

Tell us about your law firm:

My partner and I have the two best Case Managers in the country. Our Case Managers handle much of the day-to-day matters that come up which allows the lawyers to focus on the parts of the case that are likely to cause the other side to pay the most money in settlement.

What are your strengths and style?

My strengths are honesty, integrity, intelligence, and the ability to make friends.

Personal Interests:

I'm a husband, father to two boys and one girl. In my spare time I spend time watching my kids play sports. I'm also a fly fisherman. I catch big rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, and any other kind of fish you can pull out of a Colorado stream. I also chase tarpon with a fly rod and catch huge redfish in Louisiana once a year as well.

I'm a golfer. My goal is to get into a single digit handicap this year.

I am physically active and participate in all sorts of sports but my main two sports are running and yoga.

I am a writer and a reader. I've written more articles than I can remember and have read more books in my 38 years than most people will read in a lifetime.

I'm a technology geek.

I am an aspiring professional photographer.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
