What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
Clients who are well informed on legal issues help both themselves and their lawyers in accomplishing their goals.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I am happy to review documents clients have prepared; it often saves money and time and improves the final result.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I commonly advise clients who intend to represent themselves on various matters. I often recommend that they do so in the right cases, but also tell them when I think they need a lawyer to represent them.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
I became a lawyer since it is a great way to use both your head and your heart in helping people in need.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
Every work experience, education and life experience makes someone a better lawyer.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I chose trial practice because I enjoy the art of advocacy and the excitement of trial.
What do you like best about your career?
A significant number of my clients are plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death claims. I understand that although it is often impossible to fully undo these wrongs, it is possible to recover compensation, hold the responsible party accountable, find justice, and restore life to a state of normalcy. Assisting my clients through difficult times, and having them satisfied with the end result is what I like best about being a lawyer.
